All area youngsters are invited to Jefferson for Halloween fun this Thursday, Oct. 27.
The Halloween trifecta begins with the Jefferson park and recreation department’s come-and-go party at the Greene County Community Center. Registration will begin at 3:45 pm, with the party from 4 to 5 pm. With help from the Greene County High School Interact Club children ages 2 through fifth grade can enjoy a variety of games and activities. Candy and treats are donated by several local businesses.
The fun moves to the courthouse square from 5 to 6 pm as the Greene County Chamber of Commerce hosts Trick-or-Treat Around the Square. Downtown merchants and other businesses will have treats (no trick required) for all children. Motorists are reminded to use caution, as this event draws hundreds of children.
The staff and volunteers at the Jefferson public library will have treats and trinkets upstairs and a skit in the basement from 5 to 7 pm. This year’s skit is based on the ageless story “The Shoemaker and the Elves.”
All events are free.
